STSM Hosting
Last updated: 06/06/2019
This document details relevant conditions and steps to an STSM applicant.
How do I become a host for an STSM grantee?
In general, any Action member is entitled to host an STSM stay. For details on the eligible matches between applicant and host institution, check Section 8.1 on page 34 of the COST Vademecum [1].
The planning of an STSM application is done on an individual basis between the potential applicant and the potential host. After informal agreement, the STSM applicant prepares and submits the STSM application via e-COST (see STSM application procedure [2] for details). Within e-COST, the applicant has to submit a letter of support by the host.
What if I wish to host an STSM on a specific subject but do not have an applicant yet ?
You can let people know about your interest in hosting an STSM on a specific subject and finding an STSM applicant for it by including a proposal in the “Targeted STSM proposals” of an official STSM call launched one month before each collection date (for details see STSM approval procedure for Action management [3]).
In order to do so, please consult the latest “Targeted STSM proposals” [4] and provide to the STSM coordinator (mail ) the information needed to include your proposal in the next STSM call. Potential STSM applicants interested by your proposal will then contact you directly.
